DTC 355 Shape Pgs 10-38

In the section of Marks and Meanings, I identify with the style of Vincent Van Gogh. The heavy textures that he creates is a lot of how I like my paintings to look like. I like paintings to have energy in the form of texture. Every artist will have a different way they apply texture. I see it as a unique style of the artist. This can also be said for a tradesman who textures drywall. Each individual will have a unique way of texturing. One may notice inconsistencies if two people where texturing in the same room on different walls.

  1. Interesting. In this way, the "unique" hand of the artist is manifested through the texture? It's gestural, to you? Almost a signature of sorts?
